Beach Accesses: There are several convenient beach accesses! All you have to choose is how you want to get there; use the complementary tram (seasonal)! Below are 3 of the most popular accesses:
Gulf Lakes Beach Access: The Gulf Lakes access is a Walton County beach access located about 1 mile to the East of Prominence. This is a small access and can be easily missed.
Deer Lake State Park: Deer Lake is located 0.5 miles West of Prominence. While it is popular, there are a few things to keep in mind: There is a small parking area at the access (aprox. $3 for parking) Bathrooms are also available at the access. The walk from the parking area to the beach is a bit longer than most area accesses. IMPORTANT - Because this is a state park, and not a Walton County beach access, alcohol is not allowed. Beach service is not available at this location either.
Santa Clara: Santa Clara access is a Walton County, ADA approved, beach access located near Bramble Grove Road, about 3.5 miles to the west of Prominence. *This is the scheduled stop for the Prominence shuttle. Parking and bathrooms are also available at the Santa Clara access. If you take the tram, please note that the hours of operation are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The Prominence Beach Shuttle runs seasonally from Memorial Day to Labor Day.
Community Pool:
The Town of Prominence offers a 2 large resort style community pools! The New Prominence South Pool is located just steps from Sea Mist and features a stunning fire pit! The North Pool is over 5,000 sq ft and is just a short walk across 30A with cabanas, grills, bathhouse, and fitness center!

The place was beautiful and clean, but very poorly stocked. Not enough soa, paper towels or toilet paper and no essentials like salt and pepper. Also, beds and pillows were really uncomfortable. But otherwise we love the location and the clean and new feel of the place!

Great Fall Break! October is our favorite time of the year to go to the beach and staying right across from the Hub is a bonus. Beach in the morning and Auburn vs. Georgia at the Hub in the afternoon. Biking and riding the golf cart in the beautiful mild weather is always great too. This unit was the perfect size for my family of five and everything was as described.

We got to the condo and the water heater was out but they were there to fix it within an hour. Great customer service and answered all our questions!! House was beautiful, beds were comfortable, plenty of towels but only reason not giving it 5/5 is because they is ABSOLUTELY no cell service. You have to get on the WiFi and even then calls didn’t come through with WiFi calling added. We were on paid vacation from work but if you needed the service you weren’t getting any!! Not even at the pool or the Hub.

Kitchen has everything you need. Comfortable beds with luxurious linens. Public beach access nearby. Location is perfect - right in the heart of 30A. Highly recommend!

Overall, very happy with the location we chose. We accessed the beach when we wanted and how we wanted. We decided to not access the pool, even with the community social distancing guidelines in place. I was very confused as to why, in 2020, cell service in a community was as poor as it was. You should look into addressing the bee/wasp issue on the first floor deck. The floors throughout the home were not clean - they were visibly clean, but when you walked around for 5 minutes with clean feet, your feet got dirty - VERY DIRTY. This was evident as early as the first day and we are not folks that walk around with shoes on - so these floors were not properly mopped. Nearly every door within the property needs WD40 attention - they all squeak :-) All in all, the property met our expectations. Kitchen was very well stocked and there were plenty of towels to use. AC, both up and down, worked really well. Oh, lighting in the master bathroom shower area - a bulb appears to be out. I hope you all address these issues as soon as possible, to make for a more wonderful experience for future guests.
